Are Coffee Colonics The Real Thing?
 

Coffee colonics detoxify the liver, as well as cleans the colon. Some people claim that they provide immediate relief to toxicity symptoms, such as congestion, indigestion, pain and headaches.
There are even some small studies that suggest that coffee colonics can aid in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
At the very end of the colon, before reaching the rectum, is an "S" shaped segments called the sigmoid colon. There is a special circulatory system between this portion of the colon and the liver.
This is because stool at this point in the colon contains putrefied material and needs to be handled carefully in order to avoid toxicity leaking into the bloodstream.
This system of veins enables toxins to be sent directly to the liver for detoxification, rather than them passing through the bloodstream to the rest of the body and vital organs.
During coffee colonics, the caffeine in the coffee goes straight to the liver where it becomes an extremely strong detoxifying chemical called glutathione-S-transferase. The coffee itself also stimulates the liver to make more bile.
The bile comes from the gallbladder and draws out environmental and metabolic toxins, as well as the toxins from Candida albicans and other parasitic organisms. The colon is responsible for ridding the body of these toxins.
In addition, the liver is then stimulated to produce enzymes that clean the blood since it’s no longer needing to work as strenuously on the colon. The coffee itself never enters the bloodstream as long as the coffee colonic is performed properly.
Only organic coffee can be used for coffee colonics. Non-organic coffees contain herbicides and pesticides that will hinder the coffee colonics healing properties, as do instant and decaffeinated coffees.
Organic coffee is available through natural food stores, both in person or online.
How often you perform coffee colonics really just depends on what your goals may be. In the first few months of a more intensive regimen, many people prefer to take a coffee colonics as many as three to seven times each.
For people in a more relaxed regimen or in the latter, established stages of an intensive regimen, this is much too much.
At this point, it is recommended that you limit your colonics to only when you feel they are needed; you may feel constipated, have Candida overgrowth, or just generally feel out of sorts.
Currently, there is a clinical trial underway at the Columbia University Department of Surgery to test the so-called “The Gonzales Protocol.”
(1) This clinical trial is currently in its Phase III randomized study after the first two phases showed as much as three times the average life expectancy for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.
(2) The Gonzales Protocol involves a diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, supplements, and detoxifying colonics, including coffee colonics.
In this study of seventy-two to ninety patients, half will receive standard chemotherapy and half with receive The Gonzales Protocol. The doctor hopes to recreate the promising results found in his pilot study in this more involved Phase III clinical trial.
While many within the medical community find The Gonzales Protocol extremely difficult to accept, it’s difficult to dispute its pilot study’s results.
The median survival rate for patients in the stage of pancreatic cancer as those in the pilot study is four to six months. Some of Dr. Gonzalez’s patients are still alive after three years.
This indisputable evidence has led some skeptics to acknowledge that maybe there’s something to the protocol that includes coffee colonics as a base part of the program. If nothing else, the skeptics feel that the results warrant further study.

Your magnificent machine is, in fact, a symbiotic collection of diverse, yet related sub-systems, coordinated and operated by a three pound mass of wrinkled gray matter known as your brain. Yes, our bodies are a true miracle, a wonder to behold. Every minute chemical change in one body system can adversely effect or benefit any or every other system. A small electro-chemical imbalance in our brain, our control system, can mean a near shutdown of our entire body. Precision balance is the standard mode of operation.
Why such a technical description of the human body? Simple; just like a finely tuned piece of electro-mechanical machinery, our bodies are sensitive to changes in inputs and outputs. The analogy is strikingly accurate. Our work quality and quantity output is in direct proportion to our food, drink, medicinal, sleep and other inputs.
The old computer adage of “garbage in, garbage out” is quite literally interpreted when it comes to our human body. If you load your incredible machine with simple carbohydrates and saturated fats, you will find it somewhat difficult just staying awake long enough to learn anything, let alone experiencing all of the energy-robbing additional weight that you’ll soon be carrying around. Think before eating that fourth donut. What and when we eat has a great deal to do with our ability to learn, concentrate, remember, stay alert and perform tasks.
It has been alleged “human beings are actually a brain with a body to carry it around!” Think about it. Scientists tell us that our bodies, not our minds, can go for a great deal of time without sleep. Sleep is for the brain. Sleep is the downtime that our brain needs to refresh itself and be ready for the next day. The brain is an electro-chemical masterpiece of Divine design, operating perfectly in equilibrium. It needs the right balance of glucose and water to function properly or it develops headaches and sleepiness.
Everything that you consume affects your brain chemistry. Too much simple sugar or saturated fat and you will fall asleep. A little caffeine and we perk up. A big meal and we’re sleepy. You must learn to eat sensibly and strategically for whole life and brain health. A casual approach can lead to lethargy and obesity.
The quality, quantity and timing of our eating can be critical to our performance. I will not attempt to dig deeply into the chemistry of all these elements at this juncture; that material is available in the many volumes of human nutritional and chemical data that has amassed over the last several decades. For our purposes here, know that consumption of too many of the wrong foods can hinder our performance and production.
Inordinate quantities of the wrong foods will most certainly hinder our learning capabilities. If our brains are sensitive to small chemical changes, then our eating and drinking habits, causing sometimes huge chemical reactions in our brains, will most certainly affect our ability to learn and perform tasks adequately. Awareness of these elusive facts can aid us in maintaining peak performance.
Lacking energy or drive because of our poor eating habits, we will most likely fail to get our work done effectively. Our job performance and income will suffer as a result. On the other hand, if we eat and drink strategically, we assure ourselves of maintaining a high-level state of learning and earning. That is smart, proactive thinking on your part.
What do we need to do? First, get the proper amount of sleep. For most people, this is 7-8 hours each night. Next, jump up from the sofa, turn off the television and get some exercise. You might even begin to like it. You will certainly enjoy the added energy a fit body provides. Besides, when you are busy exercising, you are not laying in front of the television eating a variety of junk foods.
Eat complex carbs like fresh, whole fruit, garden-fresh vegetables and whole wheat bread. Drink soymilk and lots of water to flush out your system. Eat lean meats and fish in reasonable quantities. Limit sweets and caffeine. Eliminate your consumption of simple processed sugar and flour, especially foods containing high fructose corn syrup. Stay clear of trans-fats as well. Did you know that a typical soft drink has in excess of 17 teaspoons of sugar? How many of those do you currently drink each day?
Look at the labels on foods, paying particular attention to serving sizes. You may be shocked to learn what you actually have been feeding your body and brain. Look at the chemical additives. Many commonly eaten foods lack any substantial nutritional value yet will most assuredly slow you down and add to your girth. Some common examples are french fries, soft drinks, ice cream, potato chips, big cookies, fast food hamburgers and so on. These are not quality brain foods.
There are possibly a thousand books on proper diet available to you. I suggest that you learn more about your optimum health and develop your plan. For our purposes, you now have the building blocks of your dietary strategy to help you optimize your physical chemistry, thus providing you with the greatest possible advantage in learning and performance.
Learn to be smart about your food choices; your learning will be more productive. Eat and drink in a responsible and intelligent manner. After all… you are what you eat.

Creating and Maintaining Health in Mind, Body, and Spirit
 

As you will recall in Alternative Healthcare verses Western Medicine, Western Medicine perceives the human body as a battleground on which wars are waged against invaders (viruses, bacterial infections and tumors). What Western Medicine fails to recognize is that diseases are not separate from the person. In fact every disease can be more accurately called an expression of the patient's lifestyle, beliefs, and energies. Cancer is not a tumor, for example: it is a systemic disorder that can only truly be cured by helping to support the body, not by attacking it with chemical bombs or knives. The tumor is merely one physical expression of the systemic disorder, and simply removing the tumor does nothing to cure the disease. The body is designed to heal itself—given it has the proper care—nutrition, herbal supplements, spiritual and emotional well-being.
The first step in creating a healthy Mind, Body and Spirit is making a philosophical shift—creating a new paradigm regarding your relationship with your Mind, Body and Spirit. For some this shift will be something they have read about, thought about, but didn’t know how to begin or follow through. For others this shift might be analogous to jumping off the Empire State Building. Let me assure you no one has ever died as a result of making this shift—the consistent results are better more vibrant health. No matter your age or ‘unhealthy’ condition making this shift will create better health. The most effective and powerful way to better health is to completely shift everything at once; Mind-Set, Emotions, Nutrition, Exercise, Spirituality, However, I appreciate the fear of the unknown holds the majority of people back from such a ‘radical’ change. Most people begin making changes gradually. Needless-to-say, making changes gradually hampers the immediate results you want to see. If you make changes gradually you may not see results for several months. If you made changes on all levels simultaneously you will see results within a week or sometimes even hours.
The second step is a big leap of faith—giving up the idea that Western Medicine is the end-all-be-all to create and maintain a healthy body. The United States ranks 16th or more in the world on effectively treating health related issues. If Western Medicine was as effective as the commercials on TV purports it to be, one would think the United States would rank number one in treating all health issues. Your guidance on health issues need to be shifted to a Naturopath or Iridologist. There is a plethora of information on the internet on the practice of Naturopathy and Iridology. Do the research.
The AMA and APA does a brilliant job selling the idea that they and only they know your body. Ask anyone from China, India, Japan, Europe and they politely laugh about our beliefs on maintaining health. A Naturopath or Iridologist accesses the level of body health and recommends the required nutrition, herbs and supplements necessary to bring your body back to optimum functioning.
The third step is another leap of faith—literally and figuratively—shifting your belief on spirituality. In Alternative Healthcare verses Western Medicine, I said, “Every Thing in the universe is Energy and Consciousness. How anyone thinks or feels about that ‘Fact’ cannot change it. The purpose of ‘All’ religions is the recognition that humans have a part of themselves that is not physical and there is a need to explore and experience this aspect of oneself. Part of the intent is to discover one's purpose and to live in the best way possible; part of that goal also includes the attainment of ‘Truth and Spiritual Wellness.’” Religions fail to attain ‘Truth and Spiritual Wellness.’ Proof that religion has failed in this regard manifests through the wars we continue to create; and the emotional dysfunctions people continue to struggle with. Peace of mind is essential to create a healthy body and also to create a healthy world. Peace of mind can be attained through Yoga, exercise, emotional healing and connecting to ones inner-self. Gurus, Avatars, Shamans, Spiritual Leaders can guide you into your inner-self. Spirituality is based on the belief that Every Thing in the universe is Energy and Consciousness.
Where is your Consciousness? It is within you. Therefore, going within is the only way to create Peace of Mind. Also, going within, creates a connection with an ‘Essence’ greater than yourself. In the world of spirituality you are free to call this ‘Essence’ whatever feels right to you. Attaining ‘Peace of Mind’ is an inside job. Find a Gurus, Avatar, Shaman, or Spiritual Leader to guide your Spiritual growth—outside the only religion you have ever known.
The Fourth Step is making a mind-set—a.k.a. values and beliefs—shift. Remember we are including the Mind, Body and Spirit in the quest to create health as they are not separate. Although, you have used your conscious mind to make the previous shifts, there are other mind shifts. You need to access all your values and beliefs. Take inventory….What do I believe? The most important question is: “What do I want to believe?” If you aren’t deciding what you want to believe someone else is. I suspect, the commercials/advertising, the AMA, APA is dictating what you believe. After taking inventory develop a plan to systematically change your beliefs. I facilitate a one-on-one highly focused and structured process called, ‘Creating Your Dynamic Future.’ Decide to create your future.
A mind-set shift is created through listening to the language you use—the tape you run in your head. Your life is created by your thoughts; everything you think and say drives you toward that reality. For example, if you say, I can’t, ____. That is what you will create. If you say, I am working on learning to___. Or I can. That is what you will create.
